Cup of coffee and Sherlock Holmes e-book. Huh, what is this "work" you are talking about?
I don't have much to do at work since I'm only an intern, so I spend most of my time surfing the net and playing tetris. Today was again, one of the days whereby I completed my work too fast (trust me, I was doing it sooooo slowly). Decided to read Sherlock Holmes (secretly, may I add) on the net since my friend provided me the link via twitter, during lunch. And I also started watching the British TV Series, Sherlock, last night. Just finished the first episode just now (it was surprisingly long) and it was some awesome sauce. >w<
I once came across this quote on a picture which said, "Happiness is a cup of coffee and a really good book." I agree, but only to a certain extent. Why? Because I prefer tea to coffee. Hehe. Labelling myself as a tea addict is no where near exaggerating. I once bought a whole pack of tea (it probably had more than 20 tea bags in 1 pack) while I was on a school trip at Vietnam. The hotel doesn't provide tea for breakfast (how dare they do this!) and I thought I could get by with it since it was a short trip. Think it was the 3rd day or so, when I finally told my friends, "I can't take it anymore. I need to get tea." And so, we went to a nearby supermarket at night and I got myself a pack of tea bags. And sugar. They were all laughing at me because they couldn't believe I bought packs of tea bags and sugar just to satifsy my craving for tea. The max I can go is probably 2 days without tea, and while I can skip tea for a short period of time, I get all uncomfortable on the days I go without it. I won't say it is a strong addiction but yeah.... Omg I don't even know why I am talking about tea.
Coming back to the subject of reading, I love to read, though I don't read much. And the urge to read always comes at the weirdest timing. Like in the middle of an exam period, or like today - at work. I'm not the typical kind of reader who follows a certain author, neither do I have a favourite one; though I do know who to avoid after reading a bad book. I buy a book without seeing the author's name most of the time. I do, however, like British authors more than American authors. There's this kind of similarity in the way British authors write that attracts me so much. I'm starting to sound like a book worm, don't I? Honestly, I consider myself one, and I am proud of it. I guess anyone reading this space would have already realised that I am not a clubbing girl. In fact, I haven't been to one (yet). A lot of people cast me this look of disbelief when I confess that I haven't clubbed before even though I'm turning 20 in 7 months' time. Sorry I am not as c00l as you people because of that. But that doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun. I drink, I enjoy drinking, but I also like reading. Yeah.
I don't even know why I typed all of the above.... Was just in the mood of penning down my thoughts.
Oh, right. A small episode of my life the other day:
My younger sister, Charmaine, was telling me about her creepy encounter when she was on a night cycling trip with her friends the other day. They cycled to this road which was really quiet, with a row of street lights (actually, which road in Singapore doesn't have street lights? Hahaha). And as they cycled passed, the street lights went off one by one. I laughed and replied, "it was just Dumbledore and his deluminator." :3
