Baby it's seoul cold outside: Day 7+8

I might not be a morning person, but I can handle waking up early pretty well (unless it's waking up for school la, then I'd be super grumpy). So I am always the first to wake up!! My morning routine includes waking my sister, whom I share the room with; and then going to knock on the door beside mine, in the cold winter weather, in shorts and tee. I hate people waking me up so I was always stuck with knocking the door like cray so that they jump out of their beds, or giving light knocks that would barely wake them up.

So anyway, my sis and I were up pretty early on the 7th day, so we decided to go on an adventure to find the Stylenanda(스타일난다) flagship store in Hongdae(홍대). Check out the directions here. It took us awhile but after slipping on ice a couple of times, we found it.

This was taken after shopping in there. I was wearing Stylenanda's KKXX sweater I bought from the store in Lotte Young Plaza. Lol.

En route to the guesthouse, we decided to try Tapioca Factory. My sis ordered Taro Milk Tea, and according to her, it tasted really good. I don't really like taro so yeah. The interior is cute, so I'd most probably go back again?

We headed out again with the girls after some rest at the guesthouse. Had lunch at Hongdae.

& then we went to 성신여대(Sungshin Womens' University) again.

Can you guess where we were at? #capicapiloomloom lolol.

I spent a lot of time there during my stay there last August. It brings back quite a lot of memories, especially the ones with my classmates! All of them love the cafe. I almost had a chance to meet Laurane when I went to Switzerland but couldn't in the end. I miss her so much?! :(

After chilling for awhile, we went to 가로수길(Garosu-gil).

And had the forever-delicious Yeolbong. Again. :Q

We shopped around and....... Us being US,

Hahahahaha.

The amount of food we eat when we're in Korea is C R A Z Y. My sis said that when my cousin asked her daughter if she wants to travel to Korea with us, she said no because we ate too much. Sobs ;;

Anyway, it was our second last day in Seoul, so we couldn't help but to visit Mug for Rabbit again.

***
Day 8: Going home.

Only my sis and I were going home, so we woke up early and called a cab. Slept throughout lol.

I had the BEST Caramel Machiatto at the airport by the way. From Paris Baguette. I was so fucking mindblown after taking the first sip.

I guess this marks the end of yet another Seoul travelogue. Till the next time!!!!! (I'm hoping August, which is in 2 months keke)

Baby, it's seoul cold outside: DAY 3

DAY 3: Garosu-gil, Myeongdong

Day 3 saw us separating ways (lol). I was supposed to meet my friend at Garosu-gil but was pangseh-ed at the last minute!!! Seeing that we (my sis and I) were already reaching 신사(Sinsa) station, we decided to stick to the plan of meeting the rest of them at Myeongdong that evening.

My #ootd for the day. I was told it was the coldest day in Seoul. I'm not sure if it's true but it was indeed extremely cold that day. ㅜㅡㅜ

We had lunch at 열봉찜닭(Yeolbong)!! And then walked around rather aimlessly. We passed by the beautiful Joyrich store.

And got a snapback there. I love the store!! It's so colourful and the staff were really nice. ^^

Joyrich Address서울특별시 강남구 압구정로8길 21(신사동)

We also dropped by POP Boutique. I expected a lot from the shop after seeing that post but was kinda disappointed after visiting. It's probably because it's winter now though. Will definitely drop by again the next time I'm in Seoul, provided it's a different season lol. Didn't take any pictures because my hands were freezing.

After shopping around, we went to Myeongdong to meet the girls! Pouting because it was so. freaking. cold.

While waiting for our food.....

We had 유가네(Yoo Ga Nae) for dindinz! Then headed to Lottle Young Plaza to check out the SM Pop Up Store. No pix, no pix, no pix lol. Also bought some stuff from Style Nanda! The Style Nanda store in Lotte Young Plaza is on the 2nd level.

Stef and Rach were looking for something so the rest of us chilled at Starbucks while waiting for them. /Forever trying to get wifi/

We were supposed to meet back at Myeongdong but the clever me led the wrong way and the 3 of us ended up in Euljiro-1ga station. Hahahaha. Embarrassing much. TnT

Had supper after we got back to the guesthouse. I swear all we did there was eat eat eat eat and have supper. ;A;

Once again, an abrupt ending with loots of the day.

BABY, IT'S SEOUL COLD OUTSIDE: DAY 1

I don't even know how to start my first travelogue of 2013 because I hardly took any photos, but I shall try! I have directions to Style Nanda Flagship Store and Miss Lee Cafe (visited by WGM's YongSeo couple once) towards the end! So excited to share!! ^^

DAY 1: Singapore >>>> Seoul

We decided to stay at BoA Guesthouse again, and they never disappoint! ^^ After checking in, we headed to the #1 on our to-go-list.......

Se7en's 열봉찜닭!!! Our guesthouse is located at 홍대(Hongdae) so we went to the Hongdae outlet! They ordered 날두밥(Nal-doo-bap - 2,000won), which is rice with seawood and tofu - just mixed it up like a 비빔밥(bibimbap) to eat! I don't really like that, so I ordered a bowl of plain rice (1,000won).

After an extremely satisfying dinner, we left the restaurant to find that it was snowing!

We were really excited at first, but as the snow got heavier, we were just trying to get back into the subway station asap because we were getting wet from all the snow melting on our clothes.

We took a train to 명동(Myeongdong). Our original plan was to go Namsan Tower, but it was still snowing and we didn't want to risk being stuck up there when it's so cold. We shopped around Myeongdong and had KrispyKreme before heading back to the guesthouse.

Loots for Day 1!
I love the socks in Korea. So cute and so cheap (1,000won~2,500won)!!! *~* We also chanced upon this shop that sells official YGE goods, so I managed to get the OOAK cover I always wanted to get!

SUMMER IN SEOUL: MUG FOR RABBIT [BUZZ KOREA]

Before I blog about my last two days in Seoul, I realised I missed out the day I went to 가로수길(Garosu-gil). I don't know how it happened, because I really wanted to talk about Mug for Rabbit!!

But of course, not just about Mug for Rabbit ;)

So, one of the days after my sister joined me in Seoul, we went to Garosu-gil! We had actually made plans to come by every time we visited Korea but didn't make it until this time (3rd time). Boy, am I glad we finally made it here, lol. I love this place!!

Can I just take this chance to mention that I love Eight Seconds?? ^^ Check it out when you go to Korea!

It was a breezy evening, which I've learnt to appreciate because the summer heat was grilling me. We had dinner at........

Yup, 열봉찜닭 again!!! I really mean it when I say it's delicious. I've tried 봉추찜닭 before but I prefer 열봉^^

While strolling down Garosu-gil, I remember discussing with my sister how it would be a perfect place to be at if it were snowing. Probably because we both dislike the hot weather; being Singaporeans. There's just something about chilly weather and Korea that we really like hahaha.

Found Mug for Rabbit after awhile! I don't remember the exact direction but it's located just beside the street so it will be easy to find!

Pardon my head but here's the interior of Mug for Rabbit. Surprisingly small, for such a popular cafe. There were only 4 tables, if I am not mistaken. But it was very cosy, and I looooove cosy places!! :3

What I also like about cafes in Seoul - free wifi. Do not be shy or hesitate to ask for the cafe's wifi password! The staff are always (at least for my case) willing to let you know~ I remember an episode with my classmates where we talked about wifi being almost everywhere in Korea. And then right that instance, we saw a board outside a cafe which had "FREE WIFI" written on it. I think the other words were like "good coffee" or something along that line. Quite an interesting culture; that free wifi in cafes is something the customers are looking for, and if you have free wifi in your cafe, you better promote it!!

We were full from dinner still, so we only ordered a slice of carrot cake and a cup of hot caramel macchiato. Also partly because most of the cupcakes were sold out. 인기 참 많네요, Mug for Rabbit~ㅋㅋ
We didn't mind, of course. Mug for Rabbit is famous for their organic carrot cake, so we were glad we at least got to try it! The texture of the cake was soft, and it wasn't too sweet. Everything was just right. Oh gosh, I suck at describing food. It's good. Just go try it!! Not to mention the serving (1 slice) was huuuugggeeee. Definitely worth the price!

We headed home after completing our quest (to find MFR). Should have stayed longer but we were lazy pigs.

Anyway, remember the Asia on Air program that I blogged about? The one on winning a trip to Korea? Missed it? The organiser(BUZZ KOREA) is at it again! Blog and be invited to the 2012 BUZZ KOREA Awards! More exciting info coming up in my next post. In the mean time, check out the event page & pray that I'll be picked to attend! xx.

SUMMER IN SEOUL: DAY 26

Countdown to the day I return to sunny island: 5 days

Seeing that there were only these many days left, I finally started packing some stuff & brought it over to ze sister's guesthouse (BOA, btw. I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Hongdae!).

We had a rather late lunch because class ended at 1pm, and I only left my dorm slightly before 3pm after all the dilly dally. Oops, hehe.

Lunch was at this tiny restaurant just outside the guesthouse. What I really like about Korea, or more specifically - Seoul, is that they have an abundance of such independent restaurants and cafes. Most of them are quiet all the time that you wonder if they are even making a profit. And then you wonder how they get by if they aren't.

Food was average but I liked the music they were playing~

Went to 이대(Edae) after filling our stomachs!
Didn't shop much. Oh, I bought cute socks though!! Love the socks they sell!! Most of them are at 1,000won; good quality.

Yea, I forgot we also took purikura. But I was wearing blue so I was half invisible most of the time. Sobs.

I was going to have a quiz the next day so we looked for a place to rest our feet + for me to study. Strolled past this (well hidden) cafe! Sadly, I don't have a pic of how it looks like from the outside and neither do I remember the name of the cafe T__T I'll definitely find it when I go the next time!

Only ordered green tea latte & earl grey milk tea because we planned to have lunch at Yeolbong!
The date on the black cup thing isn't accurate btw! Drawn by one of the customers, I think. So cute:3

So after studying and just enjoying the aircon and peace, we had dindinz!!

꺄~~ >w<

DIRECTIONS TO 열봉찜닭 이대점(YEOLBONG, EDAE BRANCH)
Take the subway to Ewha Uni station. Exit 2 (if I am not wrong. Just take the exit that says Ewha Uni!).
Walk straight up (if you pass by Banila Co. on your right, you are on the right track) all the way until you see the entrance of Ewha Uni.
This is the entrance of Ewha Uni.
Turn left and walk all the way down until you can turn left.
You should see a Baviphat and then soon after you will see this:

It's on the 2nd floor!
