SUMMER IN SEOUL PT. 2

Am back from my trip to Seoul. The past 11 days have been hot, tiring, and fun. I definitely explored a lot, but unfortunately, didn't take much pictures. I don't think I will be able to blog about my trip in details, but I do have some places to recommend! Stay tuned. :)

Meanwhile, my going-to-school-anxiety is back. 3 more days before the start of yet another 4 months of school. 

Baby it's seoul cold outside: Day 7+8

I might not be a morning person, but I can handle waking up early pretty well (unless it's waking up for school la, then I'd be super grumpy). So I am always the first to wake up!! My morning routine includes waking my sister, whom I share the room with; and then going to knock on the door beside mine, in the cold winter weather, in shorts and tee. I hate people waking me up so I was always stuck with knocking the door like cray so that they jump out of their beds, or giving light knocks that would barely wake them up. 

So anyway, my sis and I were up pretty early on the 7th day, so we decided to go on an adventure to find the Stylenanda(스타일난다) flagship store in Hongdae(홍대). Check out the directions here. It took us awhile but after slipping on ice a couple of times, we found it.

This was taken after shopping in there. I was wearing Stylenanda's KKXX sweater I bought from the store in Lotte Young Plaza. Lol.

En route to the guesthouse, we decided to try Tapioca Factory. My sis ordered Taro Milk Tea, and according to her, it tasted really good. I don't really like taro so yeah. The interior is cute, so I'd most probably go back again? 

We headed out again with the girls after some rest at the guesthouse. Had lunch at Hongdae. 

& then we went to 성신여대(Sungshin Womens' University) again.

Can you guess where we were at? #capicapiloomloom lolol. 

I spent a lot of time there during my stay there last August. It brings back quite a lot of memories, especially the ones with my classmates! All of them love the cafe. I almost had a chance to meet Laurane when I went to Switzerland but couldn't in the end. I miss her so much?! :(

After chilling for awhile, we went to 가로수길(Garosu-gil). 

And had the forever-delicious Yeolbong. Again. :Q 

We shopped around and....... Us being US, 

Hahahahaha. 

The amount of food we eat when we're in Korea is C R A Z Y. My sis said that when my cousin asked her daughter if she wants to travel to Korea with us, she said no because we ate too much. Sobs ;;

Anyway, it was our second last day in Seoul, so we couldn't help but to visit Mug for Rabbit again.

Day 8: Going home. 

Only my sis and I were going home, so we woke up early and called a cab. Slept throughout lol.

I had the BEST Caramel Machiatto at the airport by the way. From Paris Baguette. I was so fucking mindblown after taking the first sip. 

I guess this marks the end of yet another Seoul travelogue. Till the next time!!!!! (I'm hoping August, which is in 2 months keke)

Baby it's seoul cold outside: Day 6

Are you ready for the B E S T B B Q?!?!!?

On the sixth day of christmas our trip, my loves brought me to the famous (I think?) 8,000won BBQ buffet at 신촌(Sinchon).

DIRECTIONS TO SINCHON 8,000WON BBQ
Alight at 신촌(Sinchon) Station Exit 3, walk straight until you see a Mcdonalds opposite. Cross the road.

And walk in.

Keep going straight. (Ignore them hahahaha)

And tadaa!! You've reached your destination ^w^

I wouldn't say it is the best bbq I've eaten but it was pretty good for the price. You can't even get 떡볶이(ddeokbokki) at 8,000won (~ SGD9) in Singapore!!

We were given big transparent bags to stuff our winter coats and bags lest the BBQ smell stays on our clothes. The very nice ahjumma also sprayed febreze on us before we left.

Can't remember if we went anywhere else before we made our way to Miss Lee Cafe. That place was filled with COUPLES. (-.,-) And the second floor was crazy smallllll!! I couldn't stand straight, and it was still kinda difficult to move around even when I was kneeling.

This is the Korean traditional lunch box! You have to shake it so that everything gets mixed up before you eat. Loved it. Will definitely go back again!

Didn't I mention we were constantly on the search for food throughout our trip? After our small meal at Miss Lee Cafe, we went to 삼청동(Sam-chung-dong), which was just opposite. I think we were talking about having pasta for dinner, but we couldn't find one, so we settled down at Dodo&.

Just a couple of days ago, my sis was telling me about how people on instagram are suddenly liking all her photos at Dodo&, and the same thing happened to me at night. Didn't know what was going on until she found out that LadyIronChef went there. I don't know whether he reviewed it or not, or if he liked it or not, but if you like waffles and ice cream, you can try it out!

After warming ourselves from the cold, we headed back to our guesthouse. If I'm not mistaken, we ordered some fried chicken from the restaurant beside our guesthouse and dined at the guesthouse kitchen. LOL. I'm surprised we didn't get that much weight during our stay there.

Baby it's seoul cold outside: Day 5

Day 5 saw us at combing Hongdae(홍대) & Edae(이대).

We started our day by having lunch at Abiko Curry(아비꼬). The branch I went last August was the 1st branch at Hongdae. We were given directions to the 2nd branch because the 1st branch was full.

There is always time for some photo-taking before food is served!!

This branch is a lot bigger than the 1st branch! According to Rach, Onew from SHINee frequents Abiko; just not sure which branch lol. Anyhoo, I tried medium spice this time after trying to the normal level the last time I visited. It was alright, but probably not suitable for people who can't take spice! We each ordered an extra potato croquette because we just had to satisfy our craving for croquette after the lost battle (of not tasting the croquettes at hapjeong) the previous night. 

We walked around the area before heading to Lomography Cafe (Seoul).

We were greeted by these two extremely fat cats (sorry, kitties but you two are really very fat) outside the cafe!!! They were not that friendly though. ;( We spent quite awhile inside, buying stuff for my little sister.
I would love to provide the address to this cafe but it closed down recently..... ㅠㅅㅠ

Oh, and I also bought this BEYOND ADORABLE sheep gloves at the Hongdae Free Market (omg, is it Free Market or Flea Market??!? Lol). It was the last piece, so I got it at 15,000won from the ahjumma. Probably a bit pricey compared to the other gloves I can get there, but it is too fluffy and cute that I couldn't care less, hehe. And it serves its purpose well. Kept my hands warm and comfy ^^;;

While walking back to the subway station, we saw the famous cotton candy stall in Hongdae! The malamute looks really old to me, and was lying there motionless the entire time I was looking at it. We didn't buy cotton candy either. Everyone was kinda just focused on the dog. 

Soooo..... We made our way to Edae afterwards! 

Met a pair of rude couple when Jac and I were queuing for kebap at this roadside stall. What makes them think that they can bully foreigners who can't speak Korean well? TSK. 

My sister and I were determined to find this random cafe we visited last August in Edae. They don't serve fantastic drinks but the ambience is good. And yup, we found it.

Cafe 체칠Su (chae-chil-soo) is a little cafe tucked in one of the small alleys of Edae. The soft lights and comfy chairs, soothing music and the little number of customers make it a good spot to hide from the hustle and bustle of the city. I love this place, and I would definitely visit it again. 

After chilling at the cafe and shopping around, we settled at this restaurant for dindinz.

Everyone knows I am not a fan of bean sprouts lol. Stef picked out all the meat for me♡ Thank you ^3^
