SUMMER IN SEOUL: ZE CAT CAFE ED. [BUZZ KOREA]

There should be an photo-editing software that works like purikura so I can decorate my pictures with cutesy stuff lol.

So..... Cat Cafe edition!!! There are surprisingly lots of cat cafes in Seoul, despite me reading that koreans actually see cats as bad luck and shun cats if they see any on street. Maybe they are opening up, and realised kitties deserve better treatments! Oh, and when I say a lot, I really mean a l o t. Already lost count of the number of cat cafes I've seen, but I've only heard of 1 dog cafe, and seen another.

The first cat cafe I went was at 명동(Myeongdong).

I think it's called Hello Cat Cafe?? Can't remember. Anyway, if you are interested, you will see a standee and someone in a garfield suit. I guess you can ask, or just find it yourself. It's on the 6th floor in one of the buildings.

Entrance fee was 8,000won with a free drink.

To be very honest, I do not recommend anyone going to this cat cafe. Oops? Hahahaha. There were only a few cats, and the cafe was kinda small. The distance between one table to the next was less than an arm's length. I like personal space; and after being here for more than 2 weeks, I realise koreans don't really care. Hmm......

The next cat cafe I went to was at 홍대(Hongdae). I know there is a famous cat cafe called Gio Cat in that area, but I didn't mind going to another, as long I go to one. So my friend and I decided to ask the tourist information. The lady mentioned 2 or 3 cafes (1 of them was Gio Cat) and gave us the direction. Couldn't really remember which way to turn after awhile so we settled for a random one we saw lol.

This cafe(called 청춘고양이), on the other hand, was better. Less people, more cats and spacious! Most cats were sleeping though, like the other cafe. Entrance fee was 8,000won with a free drink too.

The downside of this cat cafe is that there was an unpleasant smell. The cafe was clean though so I don't know where the smell came from. Also noticed some cats with a bit of matted fur and not-so-clean eyes (aka eye shit). I hope the cafe assistants are taking good care of them instead of just using them to milk money.....

I don't think I would visit another cat cafe unless someone wants to go. And I will go to a dog cafe before I leave!!!

Ohya, how can I forget.... I also went to another cat cafe.

Hehehe. More on that in another post!
